Ethan Allen was born in Lichfield, Connecticut on January 21, 1738, but people are still not sure and they think it is just too confusing. He grew up with seven siblings, five of which were brothers, and there where two sisters, he was the oldest. When he was seventeen his father died. His mother, Mary Baker Allen had to take care of the eight kids. When his father died his education was cut short and he had to take over the family's farm.Ethan joined the millitary in 1757, he didn't see any fighting though. He and his brothers got huge tracks of land in 1769. The Green Mountain Boys were eager to fight with experenced fighters, then the revolutionary war rolled along.
